Today is June 18th, 2022 and given that it took me til September to do last years, I'm doing better!! :)
As always, this is to document key events and moments of the previous year... Not all great or life changing, but moments in time that are important to remember. The one thing I continue to be reminded of when making these is how good life truly is, like the fact, that it's hard to narrow down a top ten is something to hang my hat on. The statement is so true: "the days are long but the years are quick!" No matter how bad or sad I feel in the moment, may I keep moving forward and making the most of it as tomorrow and next year I will look back with fond memories!

Honorable Mentions:*) Influencer Life (In no way gets to make the top 10 but so worth the honorable mention as it's been pretty interesting and exciting when they come in: Coldest, Nou, Bombas, ShadyRays, ZOA, etc.)!
*) Jackson Expenses :) (This is somewhat a joke but the fact that we had so many makes it hard to not make the list... Braces, broken finger that fused and rebroke, parking lot tree jumping out on NYE and of course getting ON STAGE in Vegas with Piff the Magic Dragon).
*) #JeepLife w/ JoJo (Making the honorable list again... It's not worthy of bumping out my kids and life in the top ten, but man, I enjoy the culture and the drives each day I get to have the top off)!
Top 10 Moments of 2021:
10) '57 Chevy BelAir (It's not my car but seeing how excited my dad got picking it up was a blast, not to mention a last minute drive to the coast and back to pick it up was fun, even with the backing up in a closed off parking lot at 1am!).
9) Officiating (This was both special and interesting. Not only did I get the chance to mentor this young couple that I've known since she was a teenager but noting the fact you'll probably see this back on the list next year makes it a crazy moment that must be noted... ALSO greatest officiant gift I've received!)
8) Boston! (With the new job starting last year, this one making the list is interesting, but because of Covid restrictions this year was the first time I was able to travel to the office and even meet our team... in person, crazy times we're in!).
7) Kanakuk (Fairly certain this will hit the list every year as it's a huge financial commitment, but more importantly something my kids love and I see depth and development from... This summer the bigs went back to K7, but Charleigh went for TWO WEEKS to K1).
6) Birthdays (Each birthday this year was pretty eventful. Charleigh had a super fun cup-cake making party, Creighton had a surprise party/picture-fest at the park and Jackson of course got the license and ate steak... Also did some iFly!)
5) Sports (It's hard to know where to put this on the list, higher/lower both can be justified but ultimately each of their sports take a lot of time, focus and bring joy to us as we get to see them test themselves and grow... Apparently I also added a pic of Jackson's bible study too #GROWTH)
4) Berg Family Fun Nights (We have reinstated BFFN using a scratch off book of ideas. It's super interesting that it seems we're NEVER on the same page by the time Sunday/Monday night rolls around but by the end there's always laughter... Couple other events in the pic: Sweet choir concert moment with Creighton, Charleigh's first theater adventure and Jackson's first Razorback game and calling the hogs).
3) Work (I hesitate putting "work" so high on the list but it's hard to deny that it has impacted our lives so heavily... For the first time in my life, I have a job that has true time-off, my boss cares about my personal development and wellbeing and I don't have to wear pants! P.S. I also get to be a part of creating something that doesn't exist in the world... that doesn't happen very often and I can't wait until next years list update on this!)
2) Family Roadtrips (At the close of 2021 we had been to 31 states as a family and these trips I know for a fact will be remembered for the rest of our lives. This year's trips specifically took us as far west as Las Vegas and as far east as South Carolina! 1) This Woman! (There've been lows for both of us personally but what has not wavered has been our commitment to each other and as we approach two decades of marriage I can't wait to not only celebrate it but start the next 20 years... I love you baby, some how, more than yesterday and even crazier probably not as much as I will tomorrow! You're my most favorite choice, thanks for doing the same for me... also Charleigh with the photobomb)!
